Fredrik Hörstedt

Dr. Fredrik Hörstedt is Vice President for utilisation and collaboration with business and the surrounding society at Chalmers University of Technology. He holds the overall responsibility for Chalmers' innovation ecosystem including venture creation, research institutes, innovation advisors and science parks. He holds the overall responsibility for Chalmers’ interfaces towards business, research institutes, public authorities and politics at the local, regional, national and international levels. He is a member of the board of directors of EIT Manufacturing, a 450 MEUR program of the European Institute of Technology. His previous roles include Head of Innovation in the Graphene Flagship, a European Commission funded research program of 1 bEUR, during its ramp-up phase and lead the development of the innovation management approach now implemented. He has been an advisor to the European Commission on future and emerging technologies for three years and an advisor to the Swedish government on strategic innovation for two years. He was formerly the President and CEO of a research institute group and Managing Director Deputy of a professional development company. He has 25 years of experience at the academy-industry interface. He holds a Ph.D. in Technology Management from Chalmers University of Technology.
